The long awaited Android Marshmallow is officially here! BUT, as you all know, not all devices will get the Android update at the same time. The question of when you will get it depends on the device you are using. Let’s see what the companies have announced about launching the Android Marshmallow on their phones and tablets.
The Google Nexus devices are the first one that received the Android Update. The Nexys 5X and Nexus 6P will have the new operating system pre-installed. For the other devices, Google have started rolling updates out.
According to some leaked information, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be the first phones that will receive the update some time by the end of this year. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will get the updated version of Android some time in January next year.
In an official update from the company, OnePlus will release the update in Q1 of 2016. The Android Marshmallow will be available for al of their three devices i.e. OnePlus One, OnePlus Two and OnePlus X.
Looking at the HTC Twitter account, the HTC One M9 and HTC One M8 will get Android Marshmallow by the end of this year. For other phones, such as HTC One M9+, HTC One E9, HTC One ME, HTC One E8, HTC One M8 EYE, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC Desire 826, HTC Desire 820 and HTC Desire 816, HTC will relese the update somewhere on the beginning of 2016.
There are no official information from Sony about when will the update be available, but we know what devices will be available for. If you are a proud owner of Sony Xperia Z or Z1 phone or tablet – then bad news for you. The new OS of Android will be available only for Z2 and up models (and we hope they will change their mind and do updates for more of their phones).
There are no official updates about LG yet, but what we know for now is that the LG G4 already has the Marshmallow since October 19, but only in Poland.
