Huawei P8 – Have They Done It This Time?

Huawei P8

Huawei continues to surprise us on a regular basis. This Chinese manufacturer became on of the front-runners in the world of mobile technology, and now they are here with yet another phone – the Huawei P8 – and we must admit that it looks pretty premium.

The Features

The overall design of the phone reminds a bit on the iPhone design, and even on the HTC One M9.

The Huawei P8 is a 5.2″ phone with a pixel density of 424 PPI. It has an octa-core processor and a HiSilicon Kirin 930/935 chipset. It is a different processor than the one we are used to these days, namely the Qualcomm Snapdragon, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t good. The P8 has 3GB of RAM and 16 or 64 internal memory which is extendable.

In terms of the camera, the Huawei P8 has a 13-megapixel back camera, and a more-than-decent 8-megapixel front camera.

The battery life seems questionable though. The phone is powered by Non-removable Li-Po 2680 mAh battery. Even though the numbers look right, users usually had remarks on the battery life. Also, they have remarked the the performance can be a bit laggy from time to time.

The Verdict

The Huawei P8 may not be the best phone out there. Sure, the battery life was expected to be better and we are surprised that the performance is laggy considering the fact that the phone has an octa-core processor. Still, for the given price, this is a decent phone that can turn out to be perfect for those who are not stuck to their phone the entire day and don’t perform complex tasks, but rather use the phone for what their original purpose – calling people.
