It is nothing unusual for companies to release “mini versions” of their flagship phones. As the name itself suggests, the mini phones are smaller than the flagships (though not much smaller), and they lack some of the features that their bigger brothers have. Today we will take a look at such phones and compare them. It’s the battle of the minis: Motorola Moto G vs. Sony Xperia Z5 Compact.
First thing first, and that it the design. The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact comes with a recognizable design that it is characteristic for all Sony phones from the Z series. On the other hand, Moto G gives you the opportunity to customize you telephone to the maximum when ordering from their website.
The display of Sony’s phone is a 4.6″ display with a pixel density of 323 PPI. The Moto G comes with a 5″ display wi a pixel density of 294 PPI.
When it comes to the processor, the Moto G is even somewhat disappointing. It comes with a Snapdragon 410 with 1GB of RAM, while the Sony Xperia Z5 compact clearly tops it with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and 2 GB of RAM. From here, it is clear that Moto G’s performance will be significantly slower.
Last but not least, the camera. Sony Xperia Z5 Compact has a 23-megapixel camera, while the Moto has a 13-megapixel camera.
In terms of price – you will get what you pay for. The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact costs (head-spinning) $500 at least depending on where you are buying it from. The Moto G on the other hand costs $219.99.
The winner is clear here, when it comes to everything but the price – it is the Sony Xperia Z5 compact. But if you mind paying so much for a mini phone, then maybe Moto G will be your choice.
