With Android Marshmallow still being a widely discussed tops, slowly but surely, the Android N is gaining a lot of popularity and a great attention. Of course, rumours started appearing every day, but out of all of them, there are some things we know for sure. Let’s see!
The Release Date
The Android N has an exact and confirmed release date – 18th May on Google’s annual developer conference, Google I/O 2016. But that will be the preview of how the app would look and function. The actual operating system will come some time in October, and at first it would be limited on Nexus devices only. Just as every other time, other manufacturers will release their versions of the operating system in a period of six months.
The Multi-Window Mode
This is a confirmed feature that the Android N will bring – a multi-window mode. According to Andrew Bowers, Android developers are working on a spilt screen mode. This feature was confirmed during Andrew’s interview via a Reddit AMA. Still, the split screen feature is available on Android Marshmallow, but there are things that need to be improved for the split screen on the Android N.
Stable Support for Tablets
The Android N will have better support for tablets. It will include more functional option for multi-tasking, as well as a great improvement when it comes to apps optimized for tablets, as well as System UI Tuner features specially for tablets, a DPI switcher, as well as nav buttons that you can customize.
