In the world of Internet, there’s one thing we can all agree on that we hate – ads. Ads are a more and more common thing, and we always try to find a way around it. While there was one app – the Facebook Messenger that we didn’t need to look for a way around, it seems like that is about to take a turn – in the negative direction.
According to TechCrunch, businesses will be able to send ads to people who have initiated conversations with them. Wow.
Regarding this matter, Facebook said:
We don’t comment on rumor or speculation. That said, our aim with Messenger is to create a high quality, engaging experience for 800 million people around the world, and that includes ensuring people do not experience unwanted messages of any type.
According to the documentation that TechCrunch got their hands on, Facebook Messanger might implement ads in Q2 of 2016. We are not sure whether this is going to happen, but if you look back, many of the so-called rumour turned out not to be just rumours after all. Still, even if we start receiving ads, it is a good thing that companies won’t be able to just spam us with ads if we don’t want to hear from them as they would do from their Facebook pages.
