So, Apple has announced its all-new iPhone and everyone is waiting in anticipation of when, where and what it would be like. Although there are some leaked photos of how it may look like, there are still questions about the new features that everyone is expecting.
About the release date
In terms of the release date, one thing is sure, Apple won’t release its next-generation iPhone until the fall of 2016, so there are still several months of development ahead. Currently Apple’s flagship phones are the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus which were released in September 2015. Although there still some time until launching, we’ve already found out some rumors that prepare us on what to except in September.
About the features and the design
The phone will probably be called iPhone 7 as it was with every generation by now. Apple will continue releasing two versions of each iPhone, so we can expect to see an iPhone 7 and an iPhone 7 Plus in 2016. Apple is said to be planning to stick to the 4.7- and 5.5-inch screen sizes it first introduced with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The iPhone 7 is expected to be slimmer than the 7.1mm thick iPhone 6 and to be around 6 and 6.5mm which is pretty slim and can make the battery suffer for it but regarding the Galaxy S6 6.8mm thickness this is very possible. Different rumors suggest that the iPhone 7 will have an all metal design and introducing a new screen technology by including a bezeless display in their design. We may also finally expect a waterproof phone from Apple. Yes you read fine, according to Apple’s supplier Japan Display who has come with a new technology that makes it easier to use the screen with wet fingers; this may be included in the new iPhone. We could also expect the thinnest iPhone by now, as rumors suggest Apple will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack. Also a new rumor heavily suggests there will also be a pair of special Apple earbuds included in the iPhone 7 box.
About the display
According to some rumors Apple may be in on a big resolution change as they are apparently likely to move to glass-on-glass screens, which opens up the possibility of a QHD or even a 4K display.
A lot of Android phones already have QHD screens, and the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is 4K, so it’s possible that Apple will pump up the resolution of its next flagship phone, but given that the iPhone 6S isn’t even 1080p it’s a bit skeptical that it’ll get anywhere near 4K.
One new rumor suggests the iPhone 7S will be the first Apple phone to feature an OLED display. The rumour comes from Apple telling supply chain sources that it will be switching from LCD panels to OLED panels in the next couple of years.
Camera and battery
Apple already boosted their 8mp camera do 12mp on the iPhone 6S so it is believed that they will not include any changes on that but maybe some additional features. For the battery which was a big fail on the iPhone 6S there are still no rumors but everyone expects for it to be improved.
How much it will cost?
There aren’t any price rumors yet, but the iPhone 7 will most probably cost roughly what the iPhone 6S currently retails for. That iss specifically US$649/£539/567EU.
Altough if Apple finally ditches the 16GB model the starting price might be even higher.
