HTC 10 is finally here!
From our first impressions, the HTC 10 looks like one of the more competitive flagships for this year, and it will take some portion of the Android pie mostly shared by Samsung and LG.
HTC hopes that with the high-end specs and “class leading back camera” (according to them), their handset will become a huge hit.
The design of the new HTC 10 is simply.. gorgeous! The body is made of a single sheet of metal, the edges are a little brighter and the two tone color is looking really great, especially under certain light conditions.
On the front of the phone there is only a fingerprint sensor, but that is very common today so it doesn’t surprise us. What does is the speed of the fingerprint sensor, which is faster than in any other phone. On the sides there are volume controls, micro SD slot and the SIM slot. On the bottom side of the phone you will find an USB 3.0 port and the super cool BoomSound Hi-Fi edition stereo speakers.
The HTC 10 has a display of 5.2 inches, with a QHD resolution of 2560×1440, and a Super LCD technology. The ppi is 564 (which is very close to Samsung Galaxy S7’s), and the colors are bright and with high clarity. Worthy mention is the Corning Gorilla Glass 4 that comes on this phone.
The processor in this phone is no other than the Qualcomm’s best at the moment: Snapdragon 820, a quad-core 64 bit processor of up to 2.2 gHz, and 4GB of RAM.
When it comes to HTC, we kind of expect a good audio. And HTC manages to live up to the expectations. BoomSound is back, and you get a woofer and a tweeter inside each speaker of the HTC 10! Also, each speaker has it’s own amplifier, and if you plug an earphones you will get studio-level sound quality. The audio of the HTC 10 is the best on the market, hands down.
The camera is something that, according to HTC, is totally new and the best on the market. It is the second generation of HTC’s UltraPixel, but this time with 12 megapixels. And you get everything you expect with an evolution like this. The camera is with no doubt good, and with the addition of Optical Image Stabilization it is certainly a contender, but whether it is better than Huawei’s, Samsung’s or LG’s cameras is about to be seen.
The front camera is 5 megapixel ultra-wide snapper, which is promising
The battery on the HTC 10 is said to have the new HTC’s Rapid Charger technology, which promises very fast charges from 10 to 50 percent, and HTC says that it will be enough for a day of use. As we all know, those numbers may not be completely true, but we are yet to see.
There are changes in the software that nobody expected. HTC has worked with Google and now all of the Google’s apps are directly integrated with the phone’s apps, so we don’t get duplicates. That means that the UI is much cleaner, and we like it.
We still don’t have a price details, but we know that it will come in two versions, 32GB and 64GB. As we mentioned above, those can be upgraded by micro SD. HTC expects to ship the phone before the end of April, and we will know more details than. For now, it seems like HTC has hit the jackpot this year, with a beautiful, very powerful phone that not only looks good, but sounds good too.
